Modern Slavery Statement
Man with Van Sanderstead Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Sanderstead has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of modern slavery.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Sanderstead maintains a clear and strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and child labour. We do not tolerate any form of exploitation in our own activities or in those of our suppliers, subcontractors or other business partners. All working relationships must be voluntary, fairly rewarded and conducted in a safe and respectful environment.
Every member of our team, from management to operational staff, is expected to uphold this commitment. We seek to build long-term business relationships only with parties that share and demonstrate these values in practice.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
We provide professional man and van and related moving services, which involve the use of vehicles, fuel, packing materials, storage facilities and occasional subcontracted labour. Our supply chain therefore includes vehicle and equipment providers, fuel suppliers, packaging material manufacturers and service subcontractors.
We recognise that certain sectors and regions may present a higher risk of labour exploitation. We continuously assess our exposure to such risks and adapt our controls and checks accordingly. We aim to work with reputable suppliers that can evidence compliance with relevant labour, human rights and health and safety laws.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
Before engaging new suppliers or subcontractors, we undertake proportionate due diligence to assess potential risks of modern slavery. This may include reviewing company policies, requesting confirmation of compliance with modern slavery and human rights legislation, and evaluating the supplier's own supply chain practices.
We reserve the right to carry out periodic audits, site visits or information requests where we consider the risk to be higher or where concerns have been raised. Where possible, these audits are collaborative, aiming to identify gaps and encourage improvements. However, where a supplier is unable or unwilling to meet our standards, we will seek to terminate the relationship in a responsible manner.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Man with Van Sanderstead encourages staff, suppliers and any other stakeholders to report concerns about modern slavery or unethical practices, whether occurring within our own business or within our supply chain. Concerns may include signs of forced labour, unsafe living or working conditions, retention of identity documents, or any form of coercion or abuse.
Reports can be made confidentially to management through established internal reporting channels. Individuals who raise concerns in good faith will not suffer any form of retaliation or disadvantage for doing so. All allegations will be taken seriously, investigated promptly and, where appropriate, escalated to relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery issues among our staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management or supervision of subcontractors. Training and guidance aim to help our people identify warning signs, understand our zero-tolerance stance and use the appropriate reporting channels.
We also communicate our expectations to suppliers as part of our engagement and review processes, encouraging them to cascade similar standards within their own operations and supply chains.
Monitoring, Review and Continuous Improvement
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by the management of Man with Van Sanderstead to ensure it remains appropriate, effective and aligned with evolving legislation and best practice. The review considers any incidents reported, audit findings, feedback from stakeholders and changes in our business activities or supply chains.
Where opportunities for improvement are identified, we will update our policies, training materials and due diligence processes. Our objective is to continually strengthen our controls and to reduce, as far as possible, the risk of modern slavery in any aspect of our operations.
Approval and Responsibility
This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Sanderstead, who retain overall responsibility for its implementation and effectiveness. Management will ensure that this statement is communicated within the business and made available to all interested parties.
Man with Van Sanderstead remains fully committed to maintaining high ethical standards and to working proactively to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in all that we do.
